    Did You Know?

    • ACTA currently provides door-to-door service, and a convenient Southern Alamance route?
    • ACTA connects with PART for daily services to Chapel Hill.
    • ACTA operates 27 vehicles, and all but 3 vans are equipped with lifts for special needs as well as the general public.
    • ACTA drivers are each CDL certified and trained in First Aid and CPR.
    • ACTA was established in 2002 by Alamance County Board of Commissioners.  An independent Board of Trustees overseed ACTA.
    • ACTA operates via state and federal annual grant programs with a required local 10% match funding from Alamance County.
    • ACTA provides over 60,000 passenger trips each year, including Friendship Adult Day Services, and Community Services Meal sites.

    It is the policy of Alamance County Transportation Authority to ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964; 49 CFR, Part 21; related statutes and regulations that ensure no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability, be excluded from participation in, or be denied the benefits of; or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance from the United States Department of Transportation.

    ADA Policy Statement

    This policy is written to establish operating and service guidelines and procedures for the implementation of the requirements of the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the U.S. Department of Transportation regulations for implementing ADA (49 CFR Parts 27, 37 and 38), and applicable North Carolina laws and regulations.   All services operated by the Alamance County Transportation Authority (hereinafter referred to as ACTA) are operated on a non-fixed route basis and the system complies with ADA requirements with respect to such services.
