TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY BOARD

The purpose of TAB is to provide advice and recommendations to Alamance County Transportation Authority (ACTA) Management and Board of Trustees as it relates to the transportation needs of the entire community. Members serve as liaisons between the public and ACTA, relaying information between the two groups.

TAB members represent the general public and groups including, but not limited to, people with disabilities, senior citizens, the business communities, human service agencies and local community colleges.

The TAB meets the 3rd Tuesday of the 2nd month of the quarter at Kernodle Senior Center, 1535 South Mebane Street, Burlington, NC 27215 at 12:00 noon. Members of the public are welcome and all meetings include a public comment period.

It is the policy of Alamance County Transportation Authority to ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; 49 CFR, Part 21; related statutes and regulations that ensure no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability, be excluded from participation in, or be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving financial assistance from the United States Department of Transportation.

Mission Statement

It shall be the mission of the Alamance County Transportation Authority (ACTA) to provide safe, economical, and effective transportation to any resident of Alamance County needing such services. This mission shall be achieved through:

1. A commitment to customer service.
2. Awareness of and attention to changing transportation needs.
3. Continuous, coordinated, and comprehensive transportation planning.
4. Marketing outreach to area agencies and businesses.
5. Sound financial management.
